AboutEmoor Expertise I have been traveling almost annually in England or Scotland as a tourist for the last 25 years, so I know quite a bit about train travel, car rental, B&Bs, tourist discounts, standard tourist sites, good places to eat, pubs, prices, and things to do off
Question Coming back to UK from Toronto,Canada, after many, many years - Wife has some walking problems - we have to go to Munster - Germany for Son's wedding, then plan to go UK - London by train to Edinburgh for Tattoo (ex Cameron), and then hopefully a tour by bus from Edinburgh up to Inverness etc. for a few days. Cost and Hotelling are major factors (the days of cheap flights to UK are long gone!!)
ANY help on this idea would be MOST appreciated
Answer I am sure you know that August is Edinburgh's busiest month, so make efforts to find accommodation well in advance. We have enjoyed the Ailsa Craig Hotel which is somewhat more expensive than it used to be, but there are many less expensive B&Bs. Contact the Tourist Information Office on the net www.edinburgh.org/. It can be found at Waverly train station when you arrive. They will help with reservations in your price range, plus make arrangements for a bus trip to Inverness and even book accommodations in Inverness for you.
