AboutEmoor Expertise I have been traveling almost annually in England or Scotland as a tourist for the last 25 years, so I know quite a bit about train travel, car rental, B&Bs, tourist discounts, standard tourist sites, good places to eat, pubs, prices, and things to do off
I am planning a family trip with my wife and 2 daughters(both 20 years old)during the Christmas time period. I have alittle flexibility of the exact dates before and after the holiday to travel, but we want to be in england for at least 2 weeks. I'm coming from the philadelphia/new york area to Heathrow. I would like to spend 2 nights in the city of London to see he sights, then we will spend the rest of the time with relatives we have in England. Which hotels in the city of london are a good deal? and do you know which days are the cheapest to fly there? Is there a way I can get just 1 room for the four of us, instead of 2 rooms (would they really mind)?
Thanks for your help,
Dan
Answer Congratulations on your trip. Two days is not much in London, but even two weeks is not enough to see the great things. Nevertheless, you will have a great time visiting with relatives wherever they are.
In London, it is hard to answer which hotels are the best deal without knowing the type of hotel you like. There are hundreds if not thousands of hotels in central London in all price ranges from 60 GBP to 350 GBP, from somewhat tattered to elegant.
A great many hotels have a few quad rooms, and you generally will save money over two doubles. Check out the Green Park Hotel for a mid-range hotel in a wonderful location. Call early because there will not be many quads available.
There is no pattern as to which days are the cheapest to fly. Pick a convenient time and check prices.
