Question
Will we encounter any difficulty getting into this museum.  Am I correct that it is free admission. We will also be visiting Greenwich. What is the admission fee for the Royal Observatory? Can tix be purchased in advance? Is there a pass that can be purchased for transportation traveling around london,or do we just pay as we go
Thank you
Helen

Answer
Dear Helen

If you look on http://www.rog.nmm.ac.uk/ you will get all the information there is about the observatory and the naval museum. I have never been to the observatory - just walked in the park around it - and it is in a lovely setting.

The Science museum is free I believe - all the public museums are now.. It is is very busy at weekends and during school holidays..

You can but a weekly pass for London that will cover both tube and bus or just buses. This can cover whatever zones you want to travel to

you can also buy daily passes that work after 10.00am I believe. Alternatively you can buy books of bus tickets which work out at 70p each rather than £1.00 a trip - and you do get to see a lot more of London on the bus that underground!

there are also tourist buses that tour all the main sites and you can get on and off as you please. These are normaly open top double deckers so you get great views.

Hope this helps

I have been living in London for the last 20 years so can answer general enquiries relating to the city. I also live near the British Museum so I can answer questions on accomodation in that area. I have also travelled extensively in the US so I can offer advice to Americans coming to London on a cross cultural basis.
