QuestionAm bring two teen grandchildren to London in March, a dream come true for me to show them my favorite city. A reguest for traditional fish and chips has come up, and in all my visits, I have never found fish and chip in London. Plenty of McDonalds, Kentucky chicken, pizzaq and Wendys, but no fish and chip, except outside London. Also do you know of places to feed teens near Earls Court tube station. Our hotel is in that area. I do want this to be the best trip ever for all concerned. Thanks
AnswerHi,
I do hope I can help. Fish and Chips is served in most Pubs throughout London as well as in many traditional British restaurants. Here are the names of two restaurants
that specialize in Fish and Chips. One is called Geales and is located in the Notting Hill area not that far from Earls Court. Another is called North Sea Fish restaurant on Leigh Street near the Russell Square tube. I am not familiar with any restaurants near Earls Court but I do know that it is a busy area and that there are many different types.
Some of my favorites things to do and see in London not commonly done are a visit to the Imperial War Museum, a trip to attend the Ceremony of the Keys at the tower of London, a visit to the British library , and lunch at St Martins in the Crypt in Trafalgar Square to name a few.
Have a great time in my favorite city with your grand children too...
Some of my favorite places to eat are Wagamama, Pret a Manger, Belgo Central .
One other hint if you intend to buy tickets in advance for a play why not call the theater directly instead of going thru a ticket broker.
