Britain/United Kingdom/England/Luton Airport on Christmas Day

Question
I am flying out on Christmas morning from Luton and will need to arrive earlier then i need to be at the airport (around 3am). I can't find any contact information to reach Luton Airport and I was wondering if there would be any facilities open on Christmas Day to pass my time away at the airport? Coffee shop etc.

Thank you

Answer
Hi - thanks very much for your question.

I've just called my contact at their Press Office and you'll be pleased to hear that there will be coffee shops open as normal and that some other shops (books, gifts) will be available a little later in the morning - but remember there are no newspapers on the 25th, so it is "unlikely" that WH Smith's (the newsagent) will be open - so take a good book!

Have a good flight - Luton is an easy airport to get through, unlike some others I could mention!

Do come back if I can help further, please.

As a full time, UK based, travel journalist, I travel almost constantly around the whole of the UK, searching out restaurants, hotels and "must see" places. Visitors for both business and pleasure are welcome to ask questions. I almost always travel by public transport, so questions on rail, air and coach / bus travel are also very welcome. I also regularly write about and use the "Eurostar" rail service between London and Continental Europe - which uses a tunnel under the English Channel - so I am able to help with any questions there, too.
