Question
Could you tell me what is the best way of getting from Heathrow to Gatwick using public transport, the cost, and how much time it takes?. Travelling from N. America to Ireland return. Much obliged.

Answer
A bit confused....your subject line says "Stanstead to Heathrow" but your question indicates "Heathrow to Gatwick"...

I'll answer the second one and hope that's what you need.

There is a connecting bus service from Heathrow to Gatwick.  Depending upon time of day and road traffic, the trip takes from 50 minutes to 1 hr 15 minutes (longer in traffic tie-ups).  But with customs, baggage , check-in, etc.  you need at least 3 hours between Heathrow arrival and Gatwick departure flight times.

Here's the website for more info:

Hope this helps.
