Britain/United Kingdom/England/Vauxhall-Bridgefoot tube area

Question
There is an apartment for rent in this area that says it is "in a new
development on the bank of the River Thames.  The Riverside Bank
Plaza is next to the development as well as a 5 star hotel."  Can you
tell me anything about this area?  Would it be safe for a tourist who
may be returning around 10:00 at night?  It looks as if it would be
easy to get around on the tube from there.  Any information would
be appreciated.

Answer
I live quite close to this area and would not recommend it for returning later at night. It is on quite a deserted but busy road and you would have to walk a ways from the subway to get there. If you had a car it would be fine.

There are also no real shops around there and limited eating facilities.

I have been living in London for the last 20 years so can answer general enquiries relating to the city. I also live near the British Museum so I can answer questions on accomodation in that area. I have also travelled extensively in the US so I can offer advice to Americans coming to London on a cross cultural basis.
