AboutEmoor Expertise I have been traveling almost annually in England or Scotland as a tourist for the last 25 years, so I know quite a bit about train travel, car rental, B&Bs, tourist discounts, standard tourist sites, good places to eat, pubs, prices, and things to do off
Question I am considering sailing on the Queen Mary to Southampton-then I need to get to Luton airport for my flight can you offer suggestions please on the best way to do this (large luggage) so the best least expensive car/bus service would be great. Thank you in advance for your assistance
Answer Sorry for the delay in answering your question. Some of us who enjoy travel leave town from time to time and actually take trips. I just returned from a trip.
Buses would be the least expensive, and they store your luggage in the compartment under the bus, so it is also the least physically demanding. It however, takes longer. There are National Express buses from the Southampton docks to London, and I will happily do a little research to see if there are any direct bus trips to Luton Airport. There are many train trips into London from Southhampton but you would have to get across London to another train to Luton.
You can certainly get car service, and you might want to contact Ray@london-transfers.com to see if you could have Ray or one of his drivers meet you; that would certainly be the most convenient. Check the net also for a business called "Just Airports" which provides car services.
