AboutEmoor Expertise I have been traveling almost annually in England or Scotland as a tourist for the last 25 years, so I know quite a bit about train travel, car rental, B&Bs, tourist discounts, standard tourist sites, good places to eat, pubs, prices, and things to do off
Question I am an American professional, 27, moving to London in the next two
months. I have been there a few times on visits, but never for a long period
of time. I am not sure where to move to? I currently live in Boston's most
historic and well-versed area, Beacon Hill. I was curious, where in London
would be comparable to this?
I need to be close to things, fitness center, organic supermarket, etc....a park,
because I have a small dog also.
Answer There is no place in London that truly duplicates Beacon Hill in Boston. I have spent much more time in London than I have in Boston, so I know the London neighborhoods a lot better. You can probably find the things you want in neighborhoods like, say, the better parts of Kensington or Chelsea. The highest-rent district in London is Little Venice where some people actually live in barges moored along the Regent's Canal, and which sell for fabulous prices. I think you should check out the Portobello neighborhood which to me comes the closest to what you want.
