Question
Hi Michael, Is it possible to apply for a seniorcard before I arrive in England. thanks P Dilnott

Answer
Hello Patricia,

I presume you are referring to a Senior Railcard which allows you a 30% discount off most off-peak train fares. You can certainly fill in the form before you travel allowing you to pay for and collect the card at the airport station when you arrive. You may even be able to order it over the phone and have it delivered to your non-UK address.
There is full information about the card on its website at
http://www.senior-railcard.co.uk/

You may also want to consider Rail Passes. I have added here the link for the US RailEurope site. Presuming you are travelling from the US, this will give you plenty of information about a range of tickets that you can buy before you leave the States.

If you are travelling from another country, then you may find a similar link for your own country at www.raileurope.com

I hope you enjoy your stay in the UK.

Kind Regards
Michael
