Graham,
I was reading your previous answers; this may or may not be your area, but if a person from the US was interested in possibly locating to England/UK surrounding areas (I don't know too much on specific countries) what would a single person expect to pay for living expense...maybe a general ballpark?  I am in California now, and a cheap studio rents here for about $550/mo US dollars. If you have any ideas I would so appreciate it.

This is a wide topic as where you decide to live will really affect what you will pay.

In London a one bedroom flat will be about £1000.00 or so a month. If you live outside London it will probably be about half that.

I'm not sure how this compares with other European countries but maybe the best thing to do would be Google real estate agents in the area you want to try and see what rents they are quoting.
