Question
Greetings Eric,
We will be in London in May for only 2 days. Taking a day tour on one of the days. We are staying at Corus Hotel Hyde Park, Lancaster Gate. Would like to tour walking - What is the best walking route for visiting Kensington Palace and the other sites in the park, and then reaching Cromwell Street. Also, from our hotel location, what other sights are near that we can walk to. What would be the best route to Notting Hill ? Finally, eating - Are there any Pre theater price fix restaurants close by? What restaurants or Pubs would you recommend? Nothing fancy but nice. Any walking and eating advice for our location will be appreciated.
Thank You!
Helen

Answer
Hello Helen:

I haven’t been to that part of London for nearly 10 years.  That said, I felt that just about any walking tour – especially the neighborhoods – would be interesting.  I never did get to the palace, but here were a few places we ate: the Hereford, a pub over on Glouster, and the Scarsdale pub on Pembrooke Villas.  There was also an Italian place near Cromwell and Earls Court, named Bistro Benito.

In case you think I have some sort of total recall of events in 1998, here is the source I looked at for this information – my own website!
