Dear Teri,

Could you pls advise which gadget to buy if I want to slice a cucumber quickly?

I never used a chopper or a food processor before, so I don't know if they are suitable for my need.

Probably the cheapest piece of equipment to use to get even slices is a mandolin - they vary in price from quite cheap to rather expensive.  Do always use the guard with them though and be careful of your fingers.  If you are wanting to use the "item" for more things then it may well be worth investing in a food processor - obviously, you know your situation best and what your uses for such a piece of equipment would be.
