Question
looking for a country that GB took over in 1716 in the eastern hemisphere

Answer
Hello.
I can't find any significance of the year 1716 in the history of the British Empire. The furthest east GB had reached in 1716 was a few trading stations in India established at the end of the 17th century. The Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese had greater interests in the far east than GB had at that time. GB only extended her Empire further east from the 1750s onwards.
