British History/Henry VIII

Question
Hi
Can you please tell me how Henry VIII died, and also was lady Jane Grey anything to him?

Answer
Henry VIII died in January of 1547 of syphilis and a heart condition, brought on by years of abuse and gross eating and drinking habits.

I assume you are asking if Lady Jane Grey was any relation to Henry VIII:  Jane was the granddaughter of Henry's younger sister Mary by her second husband, Charles, the Duke of Suffolk.  Jane, therefore, was the grandniece of Henry VIII.

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
