British History/Reformation

Question
I'm doing an essay on 'How far do you agree that the church in England did not need major reforms in 1529?'.
Please could you explain for me why 1529 was significant to the reformation, and could you refer me to some famous historians' opinions? I've tried researching on Google etc, but there's nothing specific enough.
Thank you!

Answer
Hello Lauren.
1529 is the year that the Reformation really began to take off in England. Before that it had been a problem for central Europe only. The Parliament that met in November and December 1529 became known as the Reformation Parliament as it looked at clerical abuses for the first time.
The best way to gather historian's opinions is to study the books written on the subject. Type in English Reformation into any booksearch site and you'll be given a list of suitable books.
