Question
Can you tell me what religion this Bishop was?  Was it the catholic church?

Answer
Hello Lori.
Yes, he was one of the Catholic Bishops installed in all the English and Welsh Sees by Mary I in 1555. The previous Protestant Bishops were deprived of their titles. He was himself deprived of the office in 1559 when the Protestant Elizabeth I turned her attention to restoring the Protestant Bishops.
