British History - Lady Margaret Wyatt Lee

Expert: Mark Smith - 10/15/2009

Question
I have been studying ambit on Lady Margaret Wyatt Lee one of Anne Boleyn's Ladies. She had attended Anne and was on the scaffold with her. She supposedly died not long after within a few years Of Anne. Is the cause of how she passed known? My family is distantly related and I would like to add to family bible.

Answer
Hello Laura.
Lady Margaret Lee (nee Wyatt) is believed to have died on 10 March 1537, less than 10 months after Anne Boleyn, aged about 30. The cause of death is unknown. Death in childbirth is always a possibility when married women die young. Her descendents include the Earls of Lichfield from 1674 to 1776 when that branch of the family died out.
