I am trying to find some info about my mothers grandad who with his wife ran the hope and anchour public house in Royton nr oldham lancs, his name was william ogden cooper am intrested in what date he resided there
Hello Val.
If you live in Lancashire most large libraries should have trade directories from the 19th/early 20th centuries which will list all the public houses in each town. Then you can search them year by year and see how long his name appears as landlord.
