Question
Hello!  I am doing a report.  The question is when and did Health Information Technology get started in the UK and what obstacles were in the way?  I have tried to research this, but cannot find anything.

Thanks

Answer
Hello Christy,

This is waaaay outside of my experience, but I advise you to go to the library and ask a reference librarian for guidance.  You are looking for histories of medicine and computers.  The best resource might be medical journals in the UK (I assume that's where you're writing from); enter the phrase "Health Information Technology" into a comprehensive database and you should get a lot of information.

Again, sorry I couldn't answer immediately but I'm more of a political and social expert.  The librarian in me hates to say "I don't know."

Good luck to you!

Sincerely,

Joseph Logue

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
