Question
I have come across a book by Mr Lloyd, Dated 1590. Dedicated to THe Archbishop of Canterbury John Whitgift. Mr Lloyd was supposed to be a courtier to Elizabeth 1st. Have you heard of him? any information would be gratefully received

Answer
Hello Tracie,

I knew nothing of the Archbishop until your question.  I'm not always a big fan of Wikipedia, but this entry seems legitimate and is well-written:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Whitgift

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
