Question
Is it possible to find out the date in 1833 when Prince George had the accident in which he lost vision in his second eye? Do you know exactly what happened in the accident? Also, did Prince George learn Braille and if so, who taught him and when? Is there a source where I can look for answers to these questions myself -- my library system doesn't contain any books about Prince George. Thank you so much!

Answer
Hello Liz.
This is a question that has puzzled me too. Every source I've found all say the same thing, he was blinded in an accident in 1833, nothing more. So I'm sorry to say I don't have an answer.
However there is a book about his father Ernest, Duke of Cumberland and King of Hanover entitled "Wicked Ernest" by John Wardroper published in 2002, that might have more information.
If I find out anything more I'll send a follow-up answer. I might get the book myself.
