British History/Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I - name question

Question
(Apologies in advance if this falls under social history.)

Is there any truth that the naming of girls "Anne Elizabeth" dates to the reign of Elizeth I as a means of forever binding the mother Anne Boleyn to her daughter Elizabeth Tudor? Possibly as a Protestant nose-thumbing?

Answer
Hello Howard.
I must admit I've not heard that theory before. So I can only guess and my guess is that it has no connection. It was rare for children to be given two Christian names in the 16th century and then only occasionally among nobility.
