Question
Could you please tell me who was the first king (or queen) of England to visit the United States? Also, the first prime minister of England to visit the United States? Thank you very much. Al Brown

Answer
Hello Al.
The first reigning British monarch to visit the USA was King George VI in June 1939, although other Princes had visited the USA before they became King.
The first serving Prime Minister was Winston Churchill in December 1941, although, again, politicians had visited the USA before they became PM.
