Question
When did henry 7th marry elizabeth?
Thanks Charlotte xx

Answer
Hi Charlotte.

Henry VII married his Wife Elizabeth of York on 18th January 1486, 5 months after Defeating Richard III at the battle of Bosworth Field.

Elizabeth was now the senior member of the house of York. As such Henry believed that the marriage would unite the two warring houses and bring about an end to the Wars of the Roses. In this he was ultimately successful though not all Yorkists were immediately reconciled and he did have to face challenges from the Pretenders Lambert Simnel and Perkin Warbeck.

Hope this helps.

Malc.
