Question
Why did people want to kill Queen ELizabeth?

Answer
Hello Chris.
In 1570 Pope Pius V excommunicated Elizabeth I and absolved her Catholic subjects from their allegiance to her. In effect it advocated rebellion and the Queen's murder. As a result there were numerous Catholic plots against her from that date onwards.
