Question
I am trying to find Queen Victoria in the 1891 UK Census

Answer
Hello Stephanie,

I have spent a bit of time on this question, and I have to tell you that I cannot find an answer.  As a guess, I might say that because of her fame and the obviousness of her, the Queen and Royal Family were counted, but not listed.  That is just a guess, as I said.

I even went to the Queen's Web site, and there found a link to the Public Records Office.  They do not take email inquiries, but you can call them or write to them.  (I'm in the US; if you're in the UK it might be easier for you.)  It is my opinion that they are the authoritative source.

Sincerely,

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
