Question
How many of queen Victoria's grandchildren are still alive and who are they and what do they do?

Answer
Hello Dewie!

None of Queen Victoria's grandchildren are alive today.  The last, Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, died in 1981.  Princess Alice was the daughter of Queen Victoria's fourth son and eighth child, Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany.

There are in fact only two of her great-grandchildren alive today (Elizabeth II, the present Queen, is Victoria's great-great-granddaughter, as is Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip).  They are Katherine, Lady Brandham, who was born a princess of Greece in 1913, and Carl Johan Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg, of Sweden, born in 1916.

This information was available from:

This is an excellent Web site regarding all the descendants of Queen Victoria.

Thanks for writing, Dewie.

Sincerely,

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
