Question
How many grandchildren did Henry V111 have?
Thanks

Answer
Hello Josh,

Henry had three legitimate children who survived him -- in order, Mary I, Edward VI, and Elizabeth I.  None of these monarchs had children of their own.  So, consequently, Henry VIII had no grandchildren.  Henry did have an illegitimate son, Henry, who had one child, but he died young and there is no record of other children.

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
