Question
My question is following,

I really want to know Scoltland how to merge into England. Can you recommend relevant paper?

Thanks a lot!

Answer
Hello Yeping,

You are in luck -- there are thousands of titles available on the union of England and Scotland.  The Union began when James VI of Scotland, the son of Mary, Queen of Scots, became King James I of England.  (Elizabeth I died without an heir, and James was her closest relative, the grandson of her first cousin.)

I am going to give you one link (http://www.unionofthecrowns.com/) that is a popular history of the beginning of the Stuart dynasty.  The Web can be hit or miss when it comes to these things, but that's a good place to start.

I don't know where you live, but your local library should have a couple of titles on the subject.  Ask your Reference Librarian for books about the Union of 1603 and about the Stuarts.  If you do not have much luck there, write back and I will recommend some titles.

As always, thank you for visiting AllExperts.

Sincerely,

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
