Question
ok what did they wear and eat back then?

Answer
Clothes and food.

OK?

Seriously, Aaron, the food was relatively similar to ours if a bit gamier, less clean, prepared in less sanitary conditions, not as bountiful, without standards of hygiene, ignorant for the most part of food-borne illnesses, seasoned beyond taste to hide rotten or decaying meat, and accompanied by as much wine or ale as possible as water was not a safe beverage, generally speaking.

The clothes are exactly like you see in any movie set in the period or photograph taken then.  Your library should have a couple of books discussing the history of dress.

Expertise

I am knowledgeable about English history from about 1400 to 1688, and then from the reign of Victoria (after 1837). I have a particular interest in the monarchy and dynastic relations of Europe from 1800 onwards. I cannot answer questions regarding the latter Stuarts, the early Hanovers, and the politics of the 18th century.
