Subject: Signal Amplifiers

Question
We have an existing distribution system with a Channel One headend unit. We
are leaving Channel One and our internal broadcast is too weak. Any idea about
the power of the signal amplifier in the Channel One box. They are not very
forthcoming with the info. (not surprisingly)

Answer
Hey Doug....

Thanx for stopping by.....

I would tell you that this is not really my area of expertise, but I can offer a couple of thoughts.....

Indeed, companies with that sort of technology play it close to the vest. There are many companies like that and the "new frontier" of cable meeting the web is wreaking all kinds of havoc on the technical side.

So I am sending a response here, but I don't really have a good answer for you either. I am including a couple of web pages for you to peruse... Hopefully they can give you some insight into the parameters you are seeking.

Best of luck!

Patrick Murray
