Broadcasting/question about news station

Question
Hi Patrick,

I'm a writer researching a project and I was hoping you
could answer a couple of questions for me.  Do you know if a
news anchor has a dressing room and what the official name
for that is?  What do news anchors usually do after they
finish a broadcast?  Where is security when the last
broadcast of the night runs?

Thanks,

Dennis

Answer
Hey Dennis...

Thanx for stopping by...sorry I am delayed in getting back to you!

A news anchor may have a dressing room - but in most places I have seen it is a general dressing room used by many. Now the anchor may be in their by themselves, but the room itself is designated for makeup and hair styling. It is usually called a dressing room or makeup room.

After they finish their shift, depending on the news day, many local anchors head out for dinner after reporting on the 6 or 7 PM news. They return to the station again depending on news around 9:30 to get the next cast ready.

Again, every place is different but security is generally stationed by the front or main entrance. The integrity of the building is kept at its entry points with security making rounds through the shift.

Hope that helps!
