Question
QUESTION: when I sent my voice demos to studio , they asked me about (what is my rate card ? )

I didnt understand what is the rate card

please let me know what is the studio mean with rate card

thanks

ANSWER: Hi Jackie....

Thanx for stopping by......

I have to assume from the studio that they want to know what you will charge them for the use of your voice. There are different charges here in the States for different lengths such as a :10, :30 or :60 commercial. You may also have a different rate for narrating a documentary or other long format video.

I am not sure what is proper for you to charge, so if you have some friends in the business or in advertising there that can assist you, they may be able to tell you what a good rate it is for you to charge. The rates are either dictated by the market place or if you have some sort of union for talent.

I hope this helps - if I can clarify any more for you please let me know.......

QUESTION: I understood that rate card is a charge I ll pay for th studio , why I have to pay the studio , what ll the studio ll pay me ?

I m from egypt , is their are rate cards for each country ?

Answer
Hey Jackie....

Thanx for stopping back here....

Maybe I am not understanding your question correctly....

If you are recording a demo of your work for people to listen to, then you would have to pay for that time with the recording studio. If someone is using your voice, of course, they would pay you....I am not sure what rates would be charged in various cities around the world - I am sure it varies by size and equipment capability.

If I am not understanding your question so well, maybe you could write and explain a little more about what rate you are concerned with at the studio.

All the best,
