Question
Hi

How do you build a TV and Radio station from the ground up? What are the financial logistics required to do so?

Answer
Hey Wayne..

Thanks for stopping by...

Actually you question is brief, but the answer would fill a book! Actually a few questions for you - do you understand this business? As in do you work in the industry? Do you have a lot of money (as in millions)? In Canada, there is licensing required just like the States, are you aware of the laws and requirements for you to be licensed in the country for broadcast? Those items would just barely get you started...it takes a lot of capital, time, and contacts to create a successful media outlet.

If you prowl around here in the broadcast answers area here, you will see many different aspects to the business and what you may need to begin your venture. It is very complicated, like starting any business should be, and without being hired and consulting, there is really now way to truly explain to you the entire process from the ground up - there are just way too many elements.

My suggestion would be to contact some fellow broadcasters in your area for some advice and find your self a good broadcast lawyer. You will need one to arrange all the contracts and government licensing you will need to move you along this path.

I wish you well on your project, and if you have any real specific questions I may be able to help you with, I would be happy to try! Best of luck!
