About Bettye Zoller
Expertise
For over 25 years, I`ve announced hundreds of TV radio commercials, narrated hundreds of videos/films for cable TV, museum tours, corporate and educational uses. I am one of the most well known voiceover coaches in the U.S. and have trained and counseled careers of voiceover talents now heard worldwide. Students travel from all over the world for my expert advice and training in announcing-narrating. I am a recording studio owner and audio engineer in Dallas Texas. I produce commercials there along with audiobook projects and voiceover demos. Much misinformation is "out there" about becoming a voiceover talent. The ability to voice projects is a wonderful way to augment one`s income at all ages and stages of life. This field knows no age! People can voice projects anywhere on earth if there is a recording studio there! And today, we simply send voiceover work as an MP3 file attached to an email, thus permitting us to work for clients worldwide! We live in a "talking world." Toys, greeting cards, telephones--everything talks--that`s what we voiceover talents do and it`s a wonderful field. I am degreed with two masters and a ph.d (minus dissertation) and have taught college courses many times. I am a Simon and Schuster non-fiction audiobook author (Speaking Effective English - WomanSpeak - CommercialSpeak and other titles).

Experience

Question
Hello,
I wonder if you could help me, lots of people have commented on my speaking voice and have said that I should do vioceovers. I have no idea what that entails or how to go about finding work in that area. Could you push me in the right direction?

I am a British 26 year old girl also with perfect Spanish.
Thank you

Answer
Having a "good voice" is not enough. We have attended numerous voiceover training workshops, classes, schools. We have CD voiceover demos that get us jobs and we are represented by broadcasting agents in major cities everywhere depending on mostly where our headquarters are (what country, what state, etc). We work on the internet. We have digital recording studios in our homes or offices to be totally successful in today's marketplace. Whee are you located? Maybe then I could help more. Explore the internet and listen to and read many many books on voiceovers. Attend classes. I am a voiceover coach in Dallas Texas. Visit my site www.voicesvoices.com. And what is your age range? Are you going to college or older or? Then perhaps I can help you more.
Thank you
Bettye Zoller
