Subject: I'm the youngest, and need some help.

Question
I have three big brother and sisters. I have two sisters, Jackie and Tiffany. I have a big brother who is oldest, Austin. I love Austin. He is so lucky. He gets to do things I can't. He has a girlfriend, Annie. He goes out all the time with his friends or Annie. He is older, I am so much younger. I just want to be like him, and play with him, and learn from him, and copy him. I can't help it. I feel sad, because he only finds me as a pain, not a little sister. I know I can annoying, and sensitive, and cause trouble, but I only want my big brother to love me! I can't help it. I am only eight years old. Tiffany hates me too! Its not all my fault. She gets annoying too. I love Jackie, and I want to be like her too, thats why I want to play Barbie with them, and not Tiffany, but they're not near as old as I am because I youngest. What should I do? I can't talk to Austin because he doesn't like me. All we do is fight. I don't like it. Jackie can't stand up for me because of Tiffany. I don't want to be like Tiffany, she's a tattletale, so please help.

Answer
Katharine,

I am sure your brother, Austin is very fond of you, being his little sister. Try not to irritate him by asking him to play with your Barbie dolls; instead, once in a while do something together that both of you will enjoy.  Remember, boys are different from girls.
Be that as it may, boys like different things from girls.

Your older sisters, Jackie and Tiffany love you as Austin does but you have to do your part in endearing yourself to them.  Accept the fact that they are much older, have interests of their own and friends that they want to spend time with.  If you do this, you will be happier and not feel neglected my them.

Go out of your way to make friends with your schoolmates or neighbors of your own age who can come over to your house and play with your Barbie dolls and other games that girls your age enjoy doing.

Be positive towards Austin, Jackie and Tiffany.  Show them you love them and they will love you back. When you are all home one night, plan a schedule with each one of them.  Ask them when is the best time for them to spend time with you.

Last but not least:  share your narration and question as well as my reply with them.
