Question
I was looking at your website and burning man stands out as being quite unusual, starting with the name. I looked at their website to see what it is and is like but after all the reading I am still not sure what to expect. It reminded me of reading one of those get rich quick ads. From what I gather it is simply a lot of people gathering in a place together camping killing time talking and playing music or some artsy thing. Is this a good summery of what is it?

There are better places to kill time than in the middle of a dusty playa where temperatures routinely top 100.

Burning Man is different things to different people. It is a place where modern social mores are dispensed with. It is a place where you can be yourself or re-invent yourself. You are aware that only $225 tickets are available? That you must bring ALL your supplies as the ONLY things available for purchase are coffee and ice?

Perhaps you'd enjoy meeting some Burning Man participants.

From my web page:
But this event isn't for everyone! It's no Disneyland. You will see things which may offend you. Some performance artists and artwork would raise eyebrows in New York, be banned in Boston and probably get the artist tarred & feathered in a number of mid-western communities! Further, you are totally responsible for yourself and the members of your party. If you're injured, it's either a long ride or an expensive medivac helicopter flight to medical facilities in Reno. Burning Man truly epitomizes the phrase "Radical self-reliance and self-expression".

Also be aware that people die at this event, granted it's usually from their own stupidity but is occasionaly due to the stupidity of others.

If you have ANY question in your mind about attending, don't. It ain't Disneyland!
