Answer
Hi Julz,

Welcome back.

Buddhanet is still basically the same.  It is the "Mother of all Buddhist web sites"

If you click here:
http://www.buddhanet.net./wbd/country.php?country_id=76
you will find all the Theravada temples and retreat centres in UK.

You may want to consider these two temples, London Buddhist Vihara and Amaravati.

http://www.amaravati.org/abm/english/int.html
and
http://www.amaravati.org/abmnew/index.php/about_us/getting_here/

Ajahn Sumedho is the most senior Western monk, trained under the Thai forest monk tradition. He is an American and is resident in England.

Another sister-centre is :
Cittaviveka
Chithurst Buddhist Monastery
Chithurst (W. Sussex), Petersfield,

If you wish to surf the net, the following sites are great:

http://www.bswa.org
This site is in Western Australia where Ajahn Brahmawamso resides. He is an English monk and is a very popular speaker. He is from the same teacher as Ajahn Sumedho.  You can listen to his talk through this site.
