Question
What is the "commitment of faith" that Buddhism requires for a person to be called a true believer? And What does Buddhism promise to those who truly belive?

Answer
Hi Laura,

Buddhism is not the stereo-typed religion that you are so used to.  Buddhism does not require anyone to believe and to have faith.  Anyone is free to use his common sense and human intelligence to analyze the Buddha's teachings.  If he agrees with them, he can put them into practice.  If otherwise, he is free to reject them.

Budhhism does not promise anything to anyone who "truely believes". It is up to the person to practise the teachings of the Buddha and to experience the benefits therefrom.
