Buddhists/Pure Land

Question
Justin,

I'm glad to discover this webpage of yours.

I'm ardent believer of the Pure Land sect. But to my disappoinment, most English materials do not provide adequate information on Pure Land, let alone Mahayana itself. And to my bigger disappoinment, many of them are of the negative perspectives, which could be dangerously misleading.

On the other hand, the Chinese materials tell otherwise. (I'm able to read and write Chinese). From there I found that Mahayana and Pure Land actually provide the complete information in Buddhism, both phenomenal and supra- phenomenal.

Hence, I'd like to know if you have researched on Pure Land and your perspectives on it. I need to know more views from English educated Buddhists. And if you've come across good English books or websites on Pure Land.

Answer
Hi Grace Chan,

Thank you for asking me.  You can find adequate info from
http://www.buddhanet.net/ at the e-book library and file library sections.  You can also source from other sections as well in this website.  Buddhanet is the "Mother" of all Buddhist sites.

I am more familiar with Theravada, and I am not that knowledgeable on Mahayana.  As you know Chinese, I think the internet will have a lot of Chinese Mahayana websites.  Wikipedia is also a good source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahayana_Buddhism

In the meantime I shall try to request someone to wrtie about the subject.  If he writes, I shall inform you through a "follow-up" to you from here.

Take care:

Justinchoo :-)
