Hi
thanks for reading my question. I am a kiwi, female and think buddhism as the way for me. I knew someone who i think followed Dojen? is this the type that is about balance in life and good for someone like me, who believes in balance of things in life. I dont know how to find a teacher as I have been told this is quite important,to help, where i live in NZ and am not sure about how to commit to one type ie is there a ceremony or something similar to that.

Dogen lived in the 13th century and founded the Soto Zen school of Buddhism. I have no doubt that there are Zen groups in NZ if you
investigate.

Yes it would be good to try and meet Buddhist groups and teachers
in NZ and find out as much as you can about the different styles
of Buddhism. Is it for you? Well you need to investigate and find
out. Like you are doing by contacting me.

My only advice is to look around and try as many different styles of Buddhism as you can before fixing on something.
