Buddhists/finding a master

Question
I am 73 years old, born just 14 days after the Dahli Lama was reincarnated.
I have been reading many books on Tibetan Buddhism.  In every one, the
book says that I must find a master to lead me.  I have been chanting to
Chenrizig and to Padmasambhava using a mala of 108 beads.  I have
chanted to Chenrezig twice each day, doing five rounds for five months, and
have just begun chanting to Padmasambhava today, which I also did for five
rounds.  I am sincerely trying to take the teachings to heart, and I have seen
a difference in my life.  How do I find a master, and do I absolutely have to
in order to achieve enlightenment?

Answer
Dear Joyce
Thanks for your questions..

Three questions for you:
Maybe the master will find you rather than you having to find the master?
Maybe you will not recognize the master when they appear?
Maybe the master is always present?
Best wishes
