Question
What is the single most important lesson you have learned?

Answer
Hi Ryan,
This is like asking,"what is the single most important link in a chain"?   Each one relies on the other and each leads to the next so I can't think of one single lesson out of so many.  I will say that an important one that I learned early on is 'self does not exist without other' meaning that all things are intertwining and mutually defining, all things compose all other things.
 Take care,
        Joe

I can answer questions dealing with Taoist philosophy and Zen and not the historicity and religion of Buddhism and its different schools. I studied under Dr. Richard DeMartino and Masao Abe of the Kyoto School of Zen.
