Buddhists/About drinking tea and meditating

Question
I just want to know what Buddhist teachers say about
drinking tea: does it interfere with meditation or help it?
I am an author of books about Christian mysticism and I am
a tea drinker.  Since tea originated in China, I'm
interested in the cultural religious context here.  I can't
tell how authentic the people online are in what they have
posted about this. Thanks much

Answer
Well all I can say to you is that most Tibetan Buddhist
teachers I know drink a lot of tea. Real strong tea too.  Chinese
and Japanese monks have drunk tea for centuries too.

I would say that drinking tea is not a problem for meditation.
