Could you please let me know of some good books as I am interested in knowing a little more about buddhism.

I am glad you are interested in Buddhism. I will be happy to recommend some books for you to read.  Since you did not specify which type of Buddhism you are interested in, I will give you a smattering from several practices.

A good meditation book is called "The New Meditation Handbook" by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Or for Zen - "Sitting Buddha" by Daishin Morgan

Another good one is "Guided Meditations on the Stages of the Path" by Thubten Chodron

Or, "Meditation for Beginners" by Jack Kornfield

A basic book on Buddhism is "Wisdom Energy" By Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Or "Buddhism for Dummies" by Jonathan Landaw and Stephan Bodian

Or  "It's Easier Than You Think"  by Sylvia Boorstein

Or "Buddha Book" by Gill Farrer-Halls

Or "Heart of Buddha's Teachings" by Thich Nhat Hanh

Or "Answers: Discussions with Western Buddhists" by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

Or "What Color Is Your Mind?' by Thubten Chodron

Or "Making Life Meaningful" By Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Or "Becoming your own therapist & Making your Mind An Ocean" by Lama Yeshe
