Question
I have an assignment for my anthropology class and was hoping that you would have time to answer the following questions for my essay. Please feel free to add any information that you feel is unique about the culture in which you live.  I am in the U.S. and would love to hear of some of the differences between culture here and culture there.  Thanks so much!  Robin

How many people are in your family?
Who are they (what is their relationship to you?)
How many parents do you have?
Are your siblings full- or step-siblings?
What do you do for a living?
What do your family members do for a living?
Are you married?
Describe what your wedding was like (large/small,
formal/informal, at a church, in a park, what kinds of activities were there...)
Do you have children? (If yes: who cares for your children while you are in school, at work, etc?)
How many people live in your house? Who are they?
Where do you live?
Describe your neighborhood. Are the neighbors friendly? Do you know them?
Do you belong to a religion? Which one? Are you religious? (Note that belonging to a religion and being religious are not the same thing, nor are they necessarily related).
 How many languages do you speak? Which ones?

Expertise

I have practiced and studied Tibetan Buddhism in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions since the early 1970s, and have a good knowledge of theory, history and of the struggles of trying to practice the teachings, including meditation, while leading a normal, modern life. I am also available to provide background information for journalists.

Experience

I have been a practitioner since the early 1970s; have run a small Buddhist centre in the English Midlands and was vice-president of Kagyu Benchen Ling e.V. in Germany, for whom I managed three large Buddhist summer-camps. More importantly, I maintain a habit of personal practice. I am the "owner" of the Kagyu list at Yahoo.

Education/Credentials
My first degree was an M.A. from Oxford. I later obtained a Master of Philosophy degree for a research thesis in "Initiation in Tibetan Buddhism" from Leicester University. I also have engineering and educational qualifications.
