Question
Hey, im not sure if youll be able to help, but im doing some homework and we are learning about buddhism. We need to think of an ultimate question such as "Why is there suffering" "should i eat animals" "is there life after death". Then after thinking of one we need to tell a buddhist scripture story that answers that question. Could you help me? I dont know any Buddhist stories so anything that answers A ultimate question would be great. Thank you x

Answer
Hi Noodle,

I shall give you very simple answers, but thought provoking.

"Why is there suffering"
It is the nature of this world to be such.  Just like asking "Why so many sick people in the hospital?"

"should i eat animals"
Ask the animals whether they should eat you.

"is there life after death".
What happens when the sun sets?  Will the sun rises again?

A good Buddhist story (slightly editted):

Once a man was shot by an arrow.  He refused help unless he got the answers to how serious his wound was, who was the assassin, the reason for his actions, etc, etc.  Sorry to say, he died before he could get the all the answers!

Moral of the story?  Live life to the fullest.  Stop wasting time asking a million questions which could not be answered.

Take care and have a nice day!!
