Answer Hi Eugene,
How are young children introduced to the religion of Buddhism?
There is no rigid or stereotyped method. I would say the best way is to send them to Buddhist Sunday School.
2. Are children/people baptized in Buddhist Religion?
"Baptism" is a Christian concept/practice. Buddhists don't do that.
3. How is a marriage ceremony performed in the Temple?
Marriage is a secular undertaking. It has actually nothing to do with Buddhism. Buddhists just follow their respective traditions.
4. How does Buddhist worship in your temple?
There are various Buddhist schools/traditions, and their rites and rituals differ. There is no one standard rituals. In our temple, we follow the Theravada way. We don't really worship anyone, including the Buddha. We pay respect/homage to the Buddha by reciting certain phrases. Rites and rituals are actually not Buddhist teachings. The Buddha's teachings are for understanding the real nature of existence, and how to experience inner peace and contentment.
5. How is divorce looked upon by the people of the Buddhist faith?
Again, this is a secular problem. It will depend more upon the nationality and culture of the people, rather than being Buddhists.
