Buddhists/Helping family members who do not want to help themselves

Question
Hello again Justin,
This is kind of a follow up to a question I had a few weeks ago.

But first I wanted to say to the person that wrote in on 7/2 "Suffering By Choice" I know how you feel!!! I WAS going through almost the same kind of problem. I know what you mean when you wanted to get away. For me I knew I had to stop for my own well being. Thanks, I read your post several times!!

Justin:: Since I have backed away from those family members I have become so much more calm & relaxed. My meditation has come along so well. And am able to handle life's daily stresses more calmly.

Question: Would it be safe to say that sometimes to really help someone is to not do anything at all? Make them help themselves? Let them find out that they need to change the way they are living their life even if they have to fall a bit?

The sad thing is that these are medical problems that they could help fix themselves. Just don't want to listen to their doctor's. They are making themselves more sick!!!
That's why I felt I had to back away. I JUST COULDN'T HELP THEM ANYMORE!!! I know it's coming...Hospital or a Death..It's sad...

Hell of a note here: My side of the family wont talk to me because I don't want to fight & argue with them anymore & the other side dose not want to help themselves feel better.

Thank You Justin & the others here. I have read a lot here on this site. It's been a big help in my Buddhist practice & help me to follow my path. I stop in here daily.

Thanks
